Written by Bob Buskirk
Monday, 21 August 2006

Our sister site ThinkComputers has a review up of the Globalsat GV-201 All-in-One Vehicle Navigation System. From the review, "With so many GPS solutions out there which one is right for you? Well it all depends on what you need and how much you want to spend. There are many GPS choices some of the big names are Magellan, Garmin, and TomTom. While these are the big names Globalsat has an All-in-One solution the GV-201 that is a navigation system, MP3 player, movie player, and a photo viewer. From looking at prices of other systems out there Globalsat is able to pack all this stuff in there a keep it far less expensive than its competitors."

HT Omega Striker 7.1 Sound Card
Written by Bob Buskirk

Our sister site ThinkComputers takes a look at the HT Omega Striker 7.1 sound card in their latest review. From the review, "Today for review we will be looking at the new HT Omega Striker 7.1 sound card. HT Omega first showed its new Striker 7.1 sound card via C-Media's booth at this year's Computex Tradeshow in Taipei. The Striker 7.1 appears to be HT Omega's first product in the sound card market. Until I was offered this review I had never heard of HT Omega so I did some research online and I discovered that HT Omega was a US based company operating out of California and their engineers have been designing soundcards for the past five years. Their website says they have their own dedicated research and development division and they specialize in professional audio components. The Striker 7.1 sound card is their initial offering into the consumer PC audio market and it is based on Dolby Digital and DTS Technologies.". Looks like a decent card, make sure you check out the review!

Samsung SPD-50P7HDT Wireless 50 inch PDP TV

Samsung's SPD-50P7HDT is the world’s first 50-inch wireless PDP-plasma display. This means you can connect all your devices to the display wirelessly. How do you do that? With the included wireless AV center. You can plug in your VCR, DVD player, etc into the AV center and it will transmit the input wirelessly using 802.11a. Finally we don't have to deal with all of those messy cables!! Although very cool it has a hefty price tag of $5000 USD.

Samsung has just released this nifty little DAP in Korea. The YP-K5 supports MP3, WMA, ASF, and OGG files. It is available in 1, 2 and 4GB sizes. The best thing about this device is the integrated speakers. The YP-K5 is also a DNSE DAP (Digital Natural Sound Engine).
