The future of lighting is shaped like a mushroom

Looks like the ideal future everyday homes being lighted by LEDs isn't too far off. The "Haze LED Luminaire" won an award in the "Lights of the Future" design competition held in Frankfurt, Germany. The award singles out energy-saving luminaires and energy-efficient lighting systems distinguished by extraordinary design. Industrial Micro Systems (IMS), a Switzerland-based company designed the light. The Haze luminaire contains rows of different-colored LEDs under its mushroom-like top section, allowing the stem to be illuminated with various shades.

LG's 1.4mm TFT LCD

LG presents a 1.48mm TFT LCD. This screen will come out in 2 different versions, 2.0 and 2.2-inch formats that are able the handle QVGA (320 x 240) resolutions. No word yet on when we will see these.

VooDoo PC New Gaming Laptop

If you don't know of VooDooPC, they make some nice gaming laptops! They have just released at 17" Core Duo laptop with 2GB of DDR2, GeForce Go 7900, customizable laptop casing, keyboard, mouse, speakers with up to 20 different colors. You can get one for around $3,800.

Sharp's Linux Powered PDA

Sharp presents the SL-C3200 Linux PDA. It runs on Lineo uLinux OS and features an Intel XScale PXA270 416Mhz processor, 6GB memory, 3.7-inch LCD, SD and CF card slots, and USB. It measures 124mm×87mm×25mm and weighs 298g.

LG presents the LG-1200. At only 15.9mm thick, it features a 1.3-megapixel camera, microSD slot, Bluetooth, and a music player. It will retail for around $400, no word yet on availability

Linksys WVC200

Linksys Presents the WVC200 into their line of WiFi cameras. It features the ability to pan, tilt, and zoom. It is assigned a direct IP address, can be password protected, and allows up to 10 users simultaneously. You can get the WVC200 now for $200
