No one is entirely sure why Asus announced its new laptop prior to CES, but no ones questioning the quality. Vista from Basic to Ultimate, Core Duo ULV or Centrino, 11.1 inch 1366x768 LED backlit display, 32 GB SSD option, 802.11 a/b/g, up to 4GB RAM all packed into a 2.75 pound and 1.1 inches. It also comes with a high resolution built in cam which is one of the smallest lenses available.
This new LCD definitely has our attention. The 32-inch Helios A32 has a 1,366 x 768 resolution panel, an optional "integrated wireless media center," a sign DVB-T tuner plus twin analog tuners, PIP support, a 2,000:1 contrast ratio, eight millisecond response time, it's own ambient lighting system and an internal amplifier for speakers. Now tell me that’s not kickass. You can pick it up for about $3,085. Not bad.
We've seen a few different sweet mods with the Eee PC before, but nothing quite this intelligent. This stunning touch screen mod is the best we've encountered so far. It seems as if it's running XP and has a $60 eBay car touch screen added. Check out the video to see it in action.
Well, it may be too late to get one, but if you're able to get one in your hands kudos to you, and you have the perfect last minute gift. Creative has finally pushed their 32GB Zen out onto the line, and I have to say, it's pretty damn stunning. It's $349.99 but I think it may be worth it.
Mozilla launched a beta of Firefox 3 and I’ve heard nothing but good reviews lately. It supposedly has all the features that developers had planned to release it with.
One of the biggest problems Firefox always had was RAM issues, it would take 100’s of MB’s of RAM which is crazy. I guess they’ve fixed that issue making it run a lot smoother and much faster. Although it still is in beta and has some rough edges, I’m really looking forward to it coming out next year.
I guess their is a complete slew of changes in the interface making it look more like Safari for the Mac and more Vista friendly for the PC. Of course this is a huge thing being that Firefox is the most popular browser.
Apple has just confirmed the rumor that has been floating around for some time now. Canada's top TV programs, including a few from the U.S. and the NHL are now available. You can download them for $1.99ea.
