![]() Gizmodo recently reviewed the IOGear Wireless USB Hub, and found that even though the concept of wireless USB, and that wireless USB technology has great potential, it still has errors. While IO Gear claims that it connects to your PC easily, Gizmodo says that it can't live up to that potential. They say that connecting is rather bothersome, and USB 2.0 is substantially faster and the wires are still there. You’re supposed to be able to connect via an antenna, but in reality you have to install separate drivers to accommodate the hardware. Gizmodo tried transferring a 500MB file from an external source to the PC, and in the attempt that they were successful it took almost 3 minutes, compared to the 25 seconds it usually takes using USB 2.0. The $200 that it's selling for is just not worth it. [Via Gizmodo] |
