 The New Marantz VP-15S1 Projector is definitely not cheap, but it brings on the high-end 1080p for your home theater. From last years model, the specs have significantly enhanced. The contrast ratio is punched up, from 6500:1 in the old model to 10,000:1, and it's significantly brighter, up from 700 lumens to 1000 lumens. Also updated on this current model is the color processing, from 10-bit before to 12-bit now. However, the most notable aspect of this new release is the huge price cut. It's to be released in Japan in November, but Marantz is saying when or if it will appear in the States, but since there is a US press release published, we think it will appear here soon after the Japan release.
