Installation and Testing
The first thing that you want to do before powering on the Squeezebox is install the software. The software that is installed in called Slim Server. This software allows the Squeezebox to communicate with your computer so you can stream music to it.

Once you have installed the software you can turn on the Squeezebox. You will be greeted with a welcome screen and easy to follow directions. You have to configure your network settings in order to connect to your PC. It is very easy and takes no longer than 10 minutes to get everything setup. Everything is set with the remote, so it is fairly easy to control. Here are some pictures of the setup.

Once you are connected to the Slim Server (Your PC), then everything is ready to go. Take note that it only selects music from the directory that you specified when setting up Slim Server.

You can either select music by using the remote or from Slim Server on your PC. Slim Server launches in a browser window. It is basically a web based system that has all of the controls for the Squeezebox. You can do everything that you can with the remote directly from the Slim Server console. It makes things easier if you are just sitting in your room listening to music, or if you want to make a big playlist.
