Usage
Ok, well I started to get into this in the first looks.. My kid uses the hunt and peck method and normally has some trouble going between keys, with the size and layout of the EZ-Reach 2030 he gained speed and accuracy. Myself, I had trouble at first and still get messed up sometimes when using it, but reading the manual TypeMatrix tells you to goto their site and download the free software typing tutor they have available. Getting this free software will help introduce you to the layout of the keyboard and used to it, it takes time to get adjusted and the software will help you. I think most of my trouble in using other keyboards throughout my normal day is that I have some pretty big paws. Once you start getting adjusted and remembering where keys are, I noticed that my typing speed picked up quite a bit and I was not looking at the keyboard as much as I normally do. Now, like in my last review I said we have animals with free range and children. Which could harm your system more? Well I had problems here and there with keys not working and sticking and this was because of dirt of whatever getting stuck down in the keys. This keyboard does not like any sort of debris inside it and will let you know by not functioning correctly. To fix my problems I popped out the problem key and brushed it out, the keys sit a top scissor like legs and can be a little tricky to remove and re-install. Once you place this down, the rubber feet grab so you can pound away at the keys and it does not move at all. It's very small and allows for more desk space, on my desk I have the roll out keyboard tray, I was able to place my mouse right next to the keyboard on the tray. I've used this now for about two weeks straight and simply love the ease of use and how it has improved my typing skills. It works awesome for games as you can mouse with one hand and use the other for hotkeys or moving around. Using it in applications such as typing it's great, as I said I usually watch the keyboard as I type but with the EZ-Reach 2030 I find myself watching the screen more and not having as many errors as I normally would have even looking for the keys.

Conclusion
Using the EZ-Reach 2030 has been nothing short of a incredible experience! The greatest thing about this to me is my son's use of it, it's really great that he can now use the computer better than before ad all because of TypeMatrix's EZ-Reach 2030 keyboard. Getting used to it can be somewhat of a task and is slightly hard if you switch between it and a standard keyboard as I do. It's everything a person could want in a keyboard and much more. The design is great, small, light weight, sturdy. Excellent keyboard for home, office or portable use. During the course of the past two weeks I can tell you personally that my hands and arms feel less fatigued than they do normally from using a conventional keyboard. This backs up the information you can find on the Typematrix website, which again I share some quotes with you:

Study Results

- 94% of women with RSI pain reported significant lessening of pain after 5 weeks
- 75% of men with RSI pain reported significant lessening of pain after 5 weeks
- 95% of all participants in the study chose to continue to use the TypeMatrix after the completion of the study
- Women reached their prior typing speed and accuracy in 8 to 17 days of use
- Men reached their prior typing speed and accuracy in 8 to 24 days of use
- Many participants reported increased speed, accuracy and efficiency once the initial adjustment with the keyboard was made

Like I said I can personally a test to these claims and I join the ranks of the people who continue usage of the EZ-Reach 2030!

Pros:
- Innovative design
- Small and compact
- Lightweight, totally transportable
- Increases typing skills
- Relieves stress from typing

Cons:
- Nothing!!

Yeah right. No cons. It might be nice, but what about the problem of "standard". I have to use other keyboards at work and all. I can't that that one there. Even if I master it, it will lower my wps at work, which would be bad.

Really now? : Guest2
I guess it's harder to learn but when you mastered it while being forced to use a normal one at work, wouldn't you actually be good at both?

Why not just get one for work aswell?

Sweat Shop? : Trevor
It sounds like you people work in an evil place. Why wouldn't they let you use a keyboard that made you more productive and less likely to become injured?

I would make these things mandatory.

HEY : true
HEY
YOU PEOPLE NEED TO UNDERSTAND THAT THIS "INNOVATIVE" KEYBOARD JUST OFFERS A NEW ARRANGEMENT OF KEYS

AND THIS IS GOOD

BUT A TRULLY ERGONOMIC KEYBOARD IS INNOVATIVE IN MORE OF KEYBOARD CHARACTERISTICS, SUCH AS PRESSURE NEEDED TO HIT A KEY, MM THAT THE KEY GOES DOWN TO TYPE A LETTER, ETC ETC

Innovation : Samuel : http://shardz.homelinux.net
It IS innovative, and it IS designed to be better about the pressure needed to hit a key. I think the only way you can make a good judgment about that is by USING the keyboard. I plan to get one of the ASAP. Innovative is Dvorak as well. I'm excited about the 'dvorak' switch on the keyboard, that'll make using other people's computers (this is so small it'll be easy to transport) much easier.

It's a fun keyboard to use. : Kaleb.G : http://kalebgrace.com/
I've had this keyboard for a couple years now and I love it. I use Dvorak with the black rubber overlay and it works so nice. I wouldn't say it's ergonomic, but it's compact and well organized. Since this keyboard is so much different from a regular keyboard, it's easy for me to do Dvorak on this, and change back to Qwerty on a standard keyboard.

good design : cybereality
I've got the older model, 2020, and it is a very good keyboard. It it a little weird to get used to but much better if you spend the time to learn. Can't believe we are still using QWERTY keyboard. I'm getting the dvorak skin. Using dvorak on this keyboard I swear typing actually feels good and not a stress on my wrists. But expect to have lowered productivity for a few months until you transition.

Repetitive stress injuries gone! : Naomi
I work long hours in front of my computer and was beginning to have serious recurring pain in my wrists. I switched from a regular staggered key qwerty keyboard to a dvorak typematrix 2030. The transition was a little slow and painful (I was a 80+ WPM touch typer), but I persevered. I'm now using the dvorak typematrix full time now and my repetitive stress injuries are GONE. I HIGHLY recommend this keyboard.
